Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of experience in accounting; experience with consumer lending or financial services preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly accounting for loan activity, including originations, payments, interest accruals, servicing fees, charge-offs, and loan sales
• Execute accurate and timely month-end close processes, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, and financial reporting
• Maintain and reconcile loan sub-ledgers and ensure alignment with general ledger and financial statements
• Apply and support accounting policies and procedures for both loan-related and corporate transactions in accordance with GAAP and internal standards
• Prepare documentation to support financial audits, regulatory filings, and internal and external reporting requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including lending operations, compliance, capital markets, and FP&A—to ensure accurate financial data flow and reporting across all areas of the business
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance internal controls, and implement automation or system enhancements to support scalability
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of loan accounting principles, including loan originations, interest accrual, servicing fees, and charge-offs is preferred
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus
