Summary
Join LI.FI, a company simplifying multi-chain DeFi, as a Senior Accountant. You will be responsible for managing key accounting processes across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with international accounting standards. Collaborate with external partners and internal teams, handling both crypto and fiat-based finances. This role offers the opportunity to shape accounting excellence at a leading European crypto infrastructure startup. Based in the EMEA region, you will report to the Head of Finance and play a key role in maintaining financial transparency and control as the company scales. The position requires significant experience in accounting, specifically with HGB and IFRS standards, and familiarity with accounting for BVI and Cayman entities is beneficial.
Requirements
- Reside in the EMEA region is mandatory
- At least 4 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in an international environment
- Sound knowledge of HGB and IFRS standards as well as practical experience with DATEV and other accounting systems
- In-depth understanding of intercompany accounting and transfer pricing mechanisms
- Fluent English skills are required; German skills are a strong plus—with very good communication and documentation skills
- Structured, analytical thinking as well as a high degree of personal responsibility—even in a dynamic environment
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for general ledger accounts and financial reporting for German, BVI, and Cayman entities, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Manage daily financial processes—including outgoing payments and internal controls—using DATEV and integrated systems such as payroll, banking, and our crypto subledger
- Conduct monthly and annual closings, including reconciliations, postings, and collaboration with external service providers for fiat and crypto transactions
- Ensure compliance with HGB and IFRS standards, including support for regulatory and tax reporting across various countries
- Coordinate audits and prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders
- Optimize and automate accounting processes with tools like Moss; manage intercompany accounting and transfer pricing documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with accounting and compliance requirements for BVI and Cayman entities is an advantage
- Interest (and ideally experience) in the field of crypto and digital asset accounting
- Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones is an advantage
