Senior Accountant

Summary

Join our team as a Senior Accountant and own end-to-end accounting operations. This part-time, remote position (Hawaii timezone) initially involves 20 hours per week, with potential for increased hours. You will leverage your expertise in QuickBooks and ADP to ensure GAAP-compliant books, handle full-cycle AP/AR, and lead the month-end close process. The ideal candidate possesses a strong accounting background, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience. A CPA or CPA track is a plus.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and ADP Payroll
• In-depth understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
• Experience with revenue recognition, accruals, and month-end close
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally

Responsibilities

• Ensure up-to-date, GAAP-compliant books using QuickBooks and other general accounting tools
• Handle full-cycle accounts payable and receivable. Collaborate with external partners for select AP/AR functions
• Categorize, code, and map all financial transactions with accuracy and consistency
• Create and manage bills, invoices, and sales order records
• Process biweekly payroll through ADP and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Lead the month-end close process, including posting revenue, managing accruals, and reconciling accounts
• Maintain capital expenditure (capex) and depreciation schedules in accordance with accounting standards
