You will manage end-to-end accounting functions, own payroll processing and compliance, lead balance sheet reconciliations, and oversee accounts payable. You will also be responsible for expense management, fixed assets, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have 3β5+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting, a degree in Accounting or Finance, and strong knowledge of Canadian payroll practices.
Requirements
- 3β5+ years in full-cycle accounting with clear examples of independently managing payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with CPA designation (or in progress) preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian payroll practices, legislation, and tools like ADP
- Meticulous with numbers and able to spot discrepancies or inefficiencies
- Proactive and solutions-oriented with a track record of making improvements without needing to be asked
- Comfortable using accounting software like QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Xero along with Excel or Google Sheets
- Adaptable, curious, and excited to thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute end-to-end accounting functions, including journal entries, accruals, and month-end close processes
- Own payroll processing and compliance, collaborating with People Ops to ensure accuracy and timeliness across provinces
- Lead monthly balance sheet and account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies to ensure accuracy
- A strong understanding of revenue recognition with experience managing different revenue streams
- Oversee all AP activity, ensuring timely, accurate, and policy-compliant payments to vendors and creators
- Own tools like Float and Navan, ensuring adherence to internal policies and complete documentation
- Maintain accurate schedules and ensure proper treatment for amortization and reporting
- Identify and implement improvements to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and support scalability
- Partner with Revenue, Operations, and People teams to improve financial visibility and support business decisions
- Assist with year-end audits, tax filings, and ad hoc financial reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting US payroll or multi-currency accounting
- Familiarity with SaaS or marketplace business models
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
