Join CoreWeave's finance team as a Payroll Accountant! Manage all aspects of payroll reconciliation, accruals, and journal entries. You will be responsible for payroll taxes at all levels and serve as a Payroll Specialist back-up. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 5+ years of payroll accounting experience, and proficiency in accounting software. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience of payroll accounting experience
- Working knowledge of payroll processes and how they impact P&L statements and balance sheets
- Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant, preferably using Rippling Payroll and Oracle NetSuite or similar systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities to address payroll accounting challenges effectively
- Proficiency in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other relevant financial tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and external parties in a professional manner
- Extensive experience with general accounting principles and practices
- Applicants must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship from the company now or in the future
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the payroll processing team to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll reconciliation or journal entry promptly
- Review Quarterly payroll tax fillings for federal and states, and work with representatives to resolve issues or notices
- Accrue payroll, bonus, and benefit expenses at month end
- Review biweekly payroll journal entries integrated into the accounting system NetSuite, and reconcile all payroll-related GL accounts: Accruals, withholding, benefits, taxes, 401K, and others
- Analyze monthly and quarterly payroll expenses and explain the flux and unexpected/unusual changes and research for a timely resolution
- Support SOX and statutory audits related to payroll
- Maintain GL mapping between payroll and accounting systems
- Reconciliation of cash accounts as they relate to payroll fees and refunds
- Record adjusting journal entries as needed
- Coordinate audit inquiries and support requests
- Monitor accounts for unexpected or unusual changes and research for a timely resolution
- Validation of data related to employee department and location for accrual and reporting accuracy
- When necessary, calculate and process regular bi-weekly payroll, including incentive compensation, SPIFFs, and scheduled additional payments
- Stay informed of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with publicly traded companies is a plus
- Strong experience with LTI and accounting practices associated with the various types of stock
