Summary
Join Experian's Global Strategy team as a Senior Analyst of Competitive Intelligence and partner with senior leaders and product experts to assess market developments and support Experian's growth. Analyze competitors' financial and economic models, linking them to broader strategies and tactical moves. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, clarifying how competitors' evolving positions may affect Experian's businesses. This remote position reports to the SVP of Strategy and offers opportunities to develop competitive market intelligence, review emerging market trends, perform in-depth analyses, collaborate with various teams, develop recommendations for growth, contribute to strategic planning, and engage with senior executives and external consulting firms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA is applicable but not required
- 5+ years' experience in Investment Banking (e.g., M&A, equities research), Financial Research, Financial Advisory, or Corporate Financial Planning. Comparable experience in strategy consulting is also acceptable
- Proficient in analyzing and modeling financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) and interpreting earnings releases for public companies
- Experience explaining complex concepts and explaining their validity to senior leadership
- Experience working with senior leadership teams and across multiple concurrent projects
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, look-ups, filtering), PowerPoint, and Word
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (estimated at 10% or less)
Responsibilities
- Develop competitive market intelligence and strategy materials for senior executive leadership, including a weekly global market event newsletter (circulation ~2,000 mid-level managers to senior executives)
- Review emerging market trends, case studies, and strategic topics to inform business insights and planning
- Perform in-depth analyses (e.g., landscape mapping, channel assessment, segmentation, financial performance) using both quantitative and qualitative methods, supported by internal and external data sources
- Collaborate with business, product, sales, technology, and finance teams, while also producing high-quality independent work
- Develop applicable recommendations to support growth and business improvement, contributing to Experian's top and bottom lines
- Contribute to annual strategic planning processes
- Engage with senior executives and external consulting firms
