Requirements

  • Proficient in SAS
  • Proficient in linear and non-linear regression modeling; stratified random sampling; constrained optimization
  • Develop or update technical documentation for current or new models
  • Proficient MS Office (Work, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and the ability to work with relational data bases and complex spreadsheets
  • Ability to train, teach and mentor junior staff
  • Ability to succeed in a dynamic environment and produce deliverables in tight timeframes and constant pressure
  • Working knowledge of the health system revenue cycle to include the access management, medical management and patient financial services functional domains
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Must be comfortable making frequent presentations to senior managers and senior client stakeholders
  • Experience developing successful business and technical proposals based upon requirements outlined in the Statement of Work
  • Ability to maintain a security clearance is necessary; must be a US citizen
  • 8+ years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze data across multiple projects for internal and external customers
  • Extract, transform, load, and clean medical claims and revenue data
  • Maintain and enhance modeling applications written in SAS that predict revenue collection performance, referral/claim/prescription/call center demand, and medical care pricing
  • Participate in systems development projects (such as corporate data warehouses) through systems and data analysis, application development, system testing and debugging, as needed
  • Provide statistical expertise using traditional and up-to-date methodologies, as well as conduct literature reviews to research methods, adapt and utilize methods for specific projects
  • Support all aspects of the project, including work plan development, project design, developing software programs, date problem identification and resolution and results reporting
  • Independently document project tasks and specifications. Manage project work according to work plan, and for successful completion of project goals within project timeline using effective time-management skills. Identify and recommend alternative data/methods to meet project needs in most efficient way
  • Attend and actively participate in stage, data/operations, and meetings for multiple projects
  • Use good judgement and practice working with highly confidential information. Follow all applicable privacy and confidentiality procedures in daily work
  • Depending on the nature of the project, may work with a project team that includes many levels of staff, or may work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAS Certification
  • Experience with Veterans Administration (VA) and the Veterans Health Administration (VHA)
  • Master's in Healthcare Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline
