Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Summary

Join Basis Technologies' Business Intelligence & Data Operations team as a Senior BI Developer! You will design and maintain complex ETL processes, data models, and BI reports. Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Post-secondary computer science, engineering, mathematics, sciences, etc
• Strong knowledge and experience with Relational Databases including SQL
• Experience with Python language, and common data analysis libraries
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Datorama)
• Experience with ETL software (e.g. Pentaho, Talend, Tableau, Domo, etc.)
• Capable of working with engineers about technical design tradeoffs including platforms, frameworks, scalability and performance
• Experience with entire development and project life cycles (SLDC) and doing so in a fast-paced workplace
• Resourceful and self-reliant; a strong self-teacher with a passion for learning
• Excellent communicator with an ability to clearly explain complex technical subjects
• Passionate about problem-solving and engaging the team to arrive at a solution

Responsibilities

• Develop, support, and implement business intelligence solutions
• Assist in building new solutions for reporting and analytics, including model development, data visualizations, security, and governance
• Design and maintain complex ETL processes, data models, data storage, and monitoring systems
• Design and maintain BI reports: spreadsheets, visualizations, web dashboards, self-service, etc
• Create and update documentation for technical design, data sources, ETL processes and reporting solutions
• Translate product requirements into technical designs and suggest reporting solutions
• Understand the QA process and participate in multiple levels of testing
• Collaborate with internal clients and Business Analysts, enabling them to understand and leverage our data
• Identify and execute improvements to technology, data models and BI tools
• Learn about our data sets and understand the KPIs that drive business success
• Identify and recommend BI product improvements to better data intelligence across Basis
• Provide “Raving Fan” service to internal and external stakeholders by being highly responsive and sharing knowledge to improve the ability of others

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the digital advertising industry (e.g. AdWords, DSP, ad serving)
• Experience using Airflow and CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• Experience with version control system (e.g. Git)
