Summary

Join Tailscale as their first Business Operations Hire, contributing to the scaling of this high-growth startup. You will work cross-functionally across various departments, anticipating and solving challenges as the company expands. This role involves a variety of projects focused on seeding and structuring areas of growth. A deep understanding of the developer tooling, networking infrastructure, and enterprise security space is highly beneficial. As a fully remote company, we seek motivated individuals comfortable with asynchronous work and ambiguity. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in business or strategy operations within a high-growth tech company.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a Business or Strategy Operations role at a high-growth tech company
  • Experience with product led growth and product led sales companies
  • Experience with a highly international customer base
  • Excellent business and technical acumen and analytical skills
  • Strong product knowledge and familiarity with complex backend infrastructure operations
  • Familiarity with potential financial, legal, operational, technical, and competitive constraints and able to balance them when suggesting and implementing solutions
  • Experience with data analytics, visualization, and business intelligence tools
  • Ability to manage effectively with ambiguity, manage multiple projects and stakeholders to prioritize and re-prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong situational adaptability in both written and verbal communication
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of conveying complex concepts in simple terms
  • Strong partnership skills within the Operations organization as well as with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Work with leadership to develop OKRs consistent with our strategic vision and track progress
  • Help evaluate and reshape our pricing and packaging strategy. This may require a deep understanding of new and existing product value, evaluating infrastructure costs, understanding and listening to customer feedback, and thinking about how to operationally simplify our business
  • Assist in bringing business and product industry context to a KPI process
  • Sharing industry best practices and identifying growth areas and gaps within a freemium / PLG motion
  • Reduce duplication in our business systems and set up processes to streamline and merge systems
  • Help with setting up foundations and recommendations to improve employee onboarding
  • Helping to evaluate our international expansion strategy and to help bring us into additional global markets. This can include examining our footprint globally and identifying regions that may be underserved and require more attention. This can include helping to coordinate efforts across functions to successfully expand into new markets
  • Assist with crafting executive communication around all hands, offsites, or external parties, etc
