Join our team as a Strategic Capture Executive and play a pivotal role in securing significant business within the Department of Defense (DoD), Aerospace, and Federal markets. You will develop and execute comprehensive capture strategies, leveraging our capabilities within key contract vehicles. This position requires identifying opportunities, building relationships with government stakeholders, and fostering strategic partnerships. Success in this role demands proven experience leading and securing captures exceeding $50M within DoD and federal markets. You will collaborate with internal teams, lead proposal development, and conduct risk assessments. Continuous improvement of capture management methodologies is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree in management, Business, Communications, Engineering, or related technical discipline (equivalent experience considered)
- Minimum of 6 yearsโ proven success leading and securing captures over $50M within DoD and federal markets
- Extensive knowledge of federal acquisition processes, various contract vehicles (IDIQ, OTA, etc.), and contract/payment types (FFP, T&M, cost plus)
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships and partnerships within defense and aerospace sectors
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at executive levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and collaboration tools such as MS Teams
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic capture plans aligned with the organization's core offerings, focusing on rugged computing, secure communications, and network solutions for DoD and federal customers
- Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements to create differentiated win strategies, ensuring alignment with unique value propositions in ruggedized military-grade electronics
- Leverage industry and competitive intelligence to effectively position the organization against key industry competitors
- Identify, qualify, and manage opportunities under existing contract vehicles, including CHS-5 and OTA consortium memberships, and proactively pursue new contracting avenues
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key military, government, and industry stakeholders, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, prime contractors, and commercial aerospace integrators
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including technical experts, pricing, proposals, and operations, to ensure integrated solutions and cohesive proposal artifacts
- Lead internal reviews, gate briefings, and proposal development efforts, ensuring compliance and alignment with evaluation criteria
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies addressing technical, financial, and competitive risks
- Support negotiations with customers, teaming partners, and subcontractors, aiming for favorable terms and profitability
- Continuously evaluate and improve capture management methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance effectiveness and win rates
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Management, Business, or a related technical field
- Active APMP membership and/or APMP Capture Practitioner certification
- Previous direct experience working within Army Avionics, PEO, etc
