Senior Cloud Network Engineer

Summary

Join Scalable Capital, a leading digital investment platform in Europe, as a Cloud Network Engineer. You will be responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable networks and communications middleware for critical applications and partner integrations. You will utilize tools like Terraform, AWS Lambda, and Python to improve infrastructure and deployment automation, ensuring reliability and cost optimization of the AWS networking infrastructure. You will also guide and empower engineering teams to further cultivate a DevOps culture.

Requirements

• Multiple years of experience with AWS services, especially VPC, Transit Gateway, Network Firewall, Direct Connect, Route 53, CloudFront, ELB, ECS, IAM, Lambda and S3
• Proficient with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
• Proficient in at least one general-purpose programming language, preferably Python
• A passion for automating and improving processes while keeping Security in mind
• A degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. computer science, engineering, sciences) or work experience in a role that typically requires a university degree
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely in an international English-speaking environment

Responsibilities

• You will provide and maintain secure, highly scalable networks and communications middleware to ensure transparent and always on connectivity for our most critical applications and partner integrations
• You will be responsible for improving infrastructure and deployment automation using tools like Terraform, AWS Lambda and Python to enable engineering teams all things networking
• You will work on reliability and cost optimization of our AWS networking infrastructure
• You will guide and empower our engineering teams to further cultivate our DevOps culture

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferably prior experience in managing enterprise-grade networking solutions, such as VPNs or Leased Lines
• Experience in low level network debugging (tcpdump), VPN (IPSEC, GRE) and Cisco IOS
