Summary

Join HackerOne as a Senior Communications Manager and lead our corporate communications efforts. Develop and execute strategies to enhance our brand reputation and engage stakeholders. You will manage external communication channels, cultivate media relationships, and oversee crisis communications. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, as is supporting executive communication initiatives. This remote position, based in Seattle, WA; San Francisco Bay Area; Austin, TX; or Washington, DC, offers flexibility with occasional in-person requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong traditional and modern communications expertise, including AI tool proficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute communication plans aligned with business objectives
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive corporate communication strategies to support HackerOne's brand positioning and business goals
  • Manage external communication channels, including press releases, blog posts, social media, and thought leadership content
  • Cultivate relationships with key media outlets, influencers, and industry stakeholders to secure media coverage and speaking opportunities
  • Oversee crisis communication efforts, including preparing messaging, coordinating response activities, and managing media inquiries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, sales, and legal, to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice
  • Support executive communication initiatives, including speech writing, presentation development, and media training
  • Manage the relationship with our PR agency, providing strategic direction, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication initiatives, including media coverage, social media engagement, and brand sentiment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with AI-powered communications tools—particularly Jasper AI—for content creation, summarization, and personalization
  • Extensive media relations experience, with a deep network of media contacts and proven success in securing media coverage
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity or technology industry trends and issues is a plus
