Summary

Join Skillsoft's Total Rewards team as a Compensation Analyst for a fixed-term contract. Focus on executive compensation strategy, design, and governance within a public company. The ideal candidate will support Compensation Committees and Boards of Directors with strategic analysis. This role reports to the Vice President, Total Rewards and involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include designing and managing executive compensation programs, preparing Board materials, conducting benchmarking studies, ensuring disclosure compliance, and providing strategic consultation to senior HR leadership. The position requires significant experience in executive compensation within public companies and strong analytical and communication skills.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Executive Compensation, with significant focus on Senior Leadership compensation analysis & Board ready presentations within public companies; with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Deep knowledge and experience with public company executive pay structures, proxy reporting requirements, SEC regulations, and shareholder perspectives
  • Exceptional MS Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables with robust analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, compelling insights for Board-level audiences
  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with superior writing and presentation skills; experience producing Board-ready materials
  • Location: Remote East Coast US

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage executive and equity compensation programs aligned with company strategy, shareholder interests, and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare high-quality Compensation Committee and Board of Directors materials, including analyses, proposals, and executive summaries
  • Conduct benchmarking studies, competitive analyses, and modeling for executive pay, long-term incentives, and other key compensation components
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, HR, and Investor Relations to ensure disclosure compliance (e.g., CD&A, proxy filings) and alignment with external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with external compensation advisors on market practices, shareholder trends, and governance best practices
  • Monitor market trends, governance developments, and regulatory updates affecting executive and broad-based compensation
  • Provide strategic consultation to senior HR leadership regarding pay-for-performance, equity strategy, and total rewards competitiveness
  • Support as needed compensation analysis, annual and off-cycle compensation processes, including executive salary adjustments, bonus/long-term incentive awards and retention packages
  • Contribute to special projects as they arise

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Compensation Committees or similarly scaled organizations
  • Familiarity with equity administration platforms, HRIS, and compensation planning tools
  • MBA or other advanced degree related to business or human capital management and /or CCP or CECP certification
