Summary

Join Unity as a Senior Counsel, Privacy & Marketing and become a key member of the legal team's privacy group. You will collaborate with marketing, security, and adtech product teams to address complex privacy and compliance matters. Responsibilities include advising marketing teams on legal aspects of digital campaigns, crafting compliance processes, leading legal responses to security incidents, and partnering with product and engineering teams on privacy concerns. You will also stay updated on legal developments and industry trends. This role requires deep understanding of global marketing and privacy regulations, strong organizational skills, and experience in drafting and negotiating marketing agreements. Relocation and visa sponsorship are not offered.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of global marketing and privacy regulations like GDPR, ePrivacy Regulation, CCPA, TSR, UDAP and CAN-SPAM
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Demonstrated expertise in balancing legal risks with business strategy along with a proven ability to quickly adapt to new areas of law and function independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Experience drafting and negotiating marketing-related agreements, product counseling, and advising cross-functional teams
  • Experience in a law firm, government agencies, and/or in-house legal department working on tech transactions, preferably with cloud-based technology companies (either in-house or as outside counsel). A member in good standing with the bar in the jurisdiction in which you will practice or have a valid in house counsel registration or qualification

Responsibilities

  • Advise marketing teams on the legal aspects of digital campaigns, including compliance with advertising laws, disclosures, and consumer protection regulations (including contests, sweepstakes and survey marketing
  • Craft scalable compliance processes and contract templates for company-wide marketing activities
  • Lead the legal response to security incidents, advising on obligations, and providing guidance on mitigation and resolution efforts
  • Partner with the adtech product and engineering teams to address privacy concerns throughout the product lifecycle
  • Stay ahead of legal developments and industry trends in martech, adtech, and digital technology to advise on best practices and emerging risks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with regulatory agencies, litigation, or navigating complex compliance challenges
  • Background in cloud, SaaS, or AdTech industries, with a passion for innovation and technology
  • Confidence and skill in collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional teams

Benefits

Gross pay salary $136,500 β€” $204,700 USD
