Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience in DevOps administration
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
  • Scripting Knowledge (Shell / Perl / Python)
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Vagrant or an equivalent tool
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS and GCP is preferable)
  • Configuration of delivery pipeline and test case integration using tools like Jenkins
  • Configuration/change management tools like Rational ClearQuest/ClearCase, Subversion, Rally, Nexus, Jenkins, Sonar, Crystal Reports
  • Application log analytics using tools like Splunk
  • Application performance monitoring and threat management using tools like App-dynamics, NewRelic, AlertLogic and/or any other equivalent tools
  • Familiarity with networking concepts like VPC, subnets, internet gateway, NAT and security principles
  • Knowledge in handling distributed data systems(ElasticSearch, Cassandra, Hadoop, and others)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain DevOps operations / SRE role
  • Support the development team and manage a wide variety of systems and applications deployed on premise and cloud platforms
  • Assist team with monitoring, log analysis, performance metrics and backend process of applications
  • Analyse client operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to uncover opportunities for improvements
  • Evaluate existing platforms, applications and provides recommendations for improving performance by conducting gap analysis, Identify feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications
  • Build automated provisioning and deployments using configuration management technology
  • Responsible for automation of repetitive manual tasks and procedures across applications
  • Responsible for infrastructure, application, data, and network security
  • Works closely with architects and development teams to assure all systems are in line with USPTO's long-term strategy
  • Participate in on-call rotations and work effectively and collaboratively during outages
  • Coordinates and manage change requests for various infrastructure and application related scheduled and/or ad-hoc events
  • Provide operational support for application and infrastructure routine maintenance and password change policy
  • Responsible for generating infrastructure and system availability and/or ad-hoc reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Responsible for maintaining existing operational standard procedural documents, runbooks and creates technical design specifications as needed
  • Assists in defining DevOps, quality guidelines and ensure compliance for all standards, policies and procedures
  • Assists in automation of load, performance testing and address any issues
  • Assists in resiliency, disaster recovery and business continuity planning
