Senior DevOps Engineer, Remote - Worldwide

Summary

Mursion is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance their software delivery processes and prepare their platform for massive scalability. The role involves developing, scaling, and maintaining AWS-based infrastructure using Kubernetes, automating build, test, and deployment phases, collaborating with development teams, enhancing system monitoring and alerts, and providing technical guidance and mentorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab
• Strong proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, etc.)
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar
• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies

Responsibilities

• Develop, scale, and maintain our AWS-based infrastructure using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery
• Automate build, test, and deployment phases using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and other automation tools
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize code deployment processes in Node.js, Java, React, and Next.js environments
• Enhance system monitoring and alerts using advanced observability and monitoring tools
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Ensure security best practices and compliance are followed in all DevOps processes
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers
• Provide expertise on system scalability and assist in designing architectures that support growth and performance
• Drive initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, and quality of our development and deployment processes
• Mentor junior DevOps team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with WebRTC or similar technologies is a plus
