Summary

The job is for a Senior DevOps Engineer at a digital shipping platform company. The role involves building, managing, and supporting the technology infrastructure using AWS, Terraform, and other tools, collaborating with engineering teams, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability, and having 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructures.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience building, managing, and scaling 24/7 cloud infrastructures, using both AWS and Terraform
• 5+ years of Linux Systems Engineering experience
• Knowledge of Unix Principles and shell tools such as grep, awk, sed, AWS CLI
• PostgreSQL Databases basic knowledge
• Scripting in Python & shell scripts
• Containerization (Docker) and container orchestration services (ECS, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Java Application Servers (in a microservices architecture environment)
• Monitoring – DataDog, CloudWatch, NewRelic, Zabbix

Responsibilities

• Build, manage and support the technology infrastructure necessary to support the client's technology platform
• Collaborate with our Engineering teams and others to ensure that we are making the best strategic decisions regarding our technology infrastructure and technology operations practices
• Build, manage and support CI/CD pipelines running on GitHub Actions
• Manage services ranging from AWS RDS Postgres Databases to Okta IdP to Kafka MQ and all points in between
• Develop and improve monitoring and incident alerting systems as part of a comprehensive approach to outages and site performance
