Summary

The Senior Director will develop and implement fundraising strategies for the ALS Association, manage a team of gift officers, and increase revenue by securing major and planned donors. The role requires excellent communication, collaboration, and fundraising skills.

Requirements

  • A self-starter with outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to successfully engage with a diverse staff and range of donors, volunteers, and community members
  • Collaboration skills required to partner with leadership staff and volunteers and field Development colleagues involved in the achievement of revenue goals
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion with an inherent drive to work and collaborate with diverse populations
  • Ability to work with flexibility in a dynamic team environment and embrace organizational change
  • Commitment to learn and utilize new technologies to improve efficiency and implement strategy
  • Proven track record of closing gifts and meeting fundraising goals
  • Possess integrity, maturity and ethical awareness; ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a team of dedicated and driven fundraisers
  • Assure gift officers remain focused and accountable to revenue goals and strategies
  • Utilize proactive communication techniques to motivate, mentor, problem-solve and provide feedback
  • Provide engagement and funding opportunities that align with donors’ values and interests
  • Secure gifts through active solicitation – The Ask
  • Provide prompt, personal, and ongoing donor stewardship
  • Maintain contact records in Salesforce and update benchmarking reports
  • Collaborate with Vice President on fundraising strategies and goals
  • Meet and exceed annual revenue goals by closing strategic gifts from supporters, and proactively managing gift officers
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to cultivate relationships with staff partners, donors, volunteers, and the ALS community
