Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, scientific or healthcare discipline or an alternate combination of education and experience in a business, scientific or healthcare discipline
  • 12 years or more experience in the CRO/pharmaceutical industry, including experience at Director level, with a proven track record in securing and winning new business, or alternative combination of research and CRO experience and demonstrated competencies in the key requirements for the role
  • Ability to drive and availability for domestic and international travel including overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a sales plan focused on securing new and repeat business from current and prospective biotech and pharmaceutical companies
  • Identify leads, qualify targeted sponsors, conduct introductory and follow-up meetings with prospective clients, secure RFPs, and work with the Business Operations/Proposal Team and other staff to create proposals for new business
  • Strategically coordinate members of the Leadership Team to leverage their respective areas of expertise to successfully bring in new business for the company and find innovative ways to work across business units to effectively sell PMG services
  • Represent the company at trade shows and at client-sponsored events
  • Work closely with Marketing and other members of the Leadership Team to design and implement a Marketing program to support the sales efforts of the company
  • Play a key role in the development and maintenance of relationships with partner organizations, including data management companies, other CROs and related organizations
  • Update Salesforce, business plans, and other metrics tracking software to provide metric-driven reporting for company leadership
  • Provide regular feedback to the Leadership Team on the positioning of the company regarding pricing, competitiveness, and market conditions
  • Maintain close contact with key Sponsor personnel to ensure that client expectations are met or exceeded in partnership with the operational team
  • Routinely meet with the line manager, Vice President of Clinical Business Solutions, to ensure consistent messaging and a clear action path for opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-year corporate management experience
  • Post graduate qualification in business, scientific or healthcare discipline
  • Experience in oncology, rare disease, neurology, central nervous system
