Summary

Flatiron School is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Finance to lead their finance team, drive financial strategy, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves overseeing all aspects of financial operations, liaising with the board of directors, equity partners, and lenders, and providing strategic financial guidance to the executive team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in Finance
  • 5+ years of management experience, overseeing and mentoring finance professionals
  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Experience utilizing Netsuite preferred
  • Strong background in strategic planning and working closely with leadership
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial analysis
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Set overall strategic vision aligned with the organization's goals and working alongside the CEO, and other executive members
  • Liaise with lenders, the board, and other equity partners
  • Facilitate scenario planning, partnership opportunities, and M&A strategies with the leadership team, board, and external equity partners and lenders
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team
  • Provide guidance and support in professional development for team members
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing controls as necessary
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs
  • Optimize cash management processes to enhance efficiency
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards
