Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or relevant experience
  • 10+ years of experience in software or platform engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven expertise in designing and scaling cloud-based AWS platforms
  • Strong understanding of microservices, API management, containerization and serverless architectures
  • Experience in implementing and scaling test automation frameworks for enterprise platforms
  • Demonstrated expertise in application performance monitoring (APM), performance testing, and optimization
  • Track record of delivering enterprise-grade solutions with high availability and security requirements
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulations relevant to benefits administration or financial services

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for platform engineering to align with business objectives
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the platform remains competitive and compliant
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing platform engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
  • Establish clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development for team members
  • Drive initiatives for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the engineering organization
  • Oversee platform architecture to ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability
  • Collaborate with software engineering, product management, CloudOps, and DevOps teams to design and implement API-driven architectures, microservices, and cloud-native solutions
  • Implement and leverage various AI platforms/tools to accelerate software engineering teams with code and test execution
  • Ensure integration with third-party systems, compliance frameworks, and data security standards relevant to benefits administration
  • Drive initiatives to improve test automation frameworks and ensure robust quality assurance practices across platform development
  • Establish metrics and processes to measure, monitor, and optimize application performance and user experience
  • Ensure proactive identification and resolution of performance bottlenecks and system inefficiencies
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and optimize platform performance, uptime, and scalability
  • Partner with Infrastructure team to manage cloud infrastructure budgets and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations
  • Ensure adherence to compliance requirements such as HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST and other relevant regulatory standards
  • Implement robust security measures, monitoring, and incident response processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the benefits administration or HR technology industry
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, encryption, and cybersecurity practices
  • Hands-on experience with modern programming languages such as .NET, C#, Python, Java, or Go
  • Expertise in data integration, ETL pipelines, and handling large-scale datasets
