Senior Engineering Manager, Remote - Chile

Summary

The job is for a Senior Engineering Manager based in South America, working remotely. The role involves managing multi-discipline engineers on the Varsity Tutors For Schools engineering team and leading technologies powering Nerdy's learning systems dedicated to supporting students in the US education system.

Requirements

• 5+ years of successful leadership experience
• At-scale technical architecture - you’ve designed and built complex yet performant systems
• Agile development (Scrum or Kanban)
• A strong desire to learn and a passion for educational technology

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the operation and innovation of the technology platform helping thousands of students be the best they can be
• Own delivering insightful, accurate and easily consumable student data to school administrators, teachers and parents
• Provide direction and oversight on technical architectures and systems design
• Support our engineering staff’s daily feeding and care: championing objectives, monitoring progress, and removing blockers
• Continually monitor, improve and optimize your teams’ performance - the humans on your team and the systems they’ve created
• Above all, you inspire, mentor and advocate for the engineers entrusted to your care so they can reach their full potential
