Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (with an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, etc))
  • 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts on a timely basis as well as, the preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and identify areas for improvement and efficiencies
  • Generate and analyze financial reports, providing insights to support decision-making
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, collaborating with other departments as needed
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and implement updates as necessary
  • Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information and support financial reporting and management of statutory and internal audits
  • Provide assistance to other finance team members as needed, including accounts receivable and accounts payable functions and, Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed
