Summary
Join Acadia Pharmaceuticals as a Sr. Key Account Manager Neuroscience and take responsibility for managing your assigned sales territory, launching and selling products, meeting individual territory goals, and addressing customer needs. You will develop strong relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), implement Acadia’s Key Account Management approach, and create a positive company image. Responsibilities include identifying and addressing customer concerns, developing deep product knowledge, analyzing the area to identify treatment centers, and developing business plans. You will also provide educational and commercial services, commercialize products within legal boundaries, plan and execute educational sessions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Reporting, presenting account plans, and maintaining a CRM database are also key responsibilities. Finally, you will represent Acadia at congresses and comply with all relevant policies and regulations.
Requirements
- A Bachelor / master’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8-10 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- A proven track record of achievement managing sales territories in a highly specialised area of medicine e.g. as Key Account Manager in the Area of Rare Diseases ideally within Neuroscience indications (pre- and post-launch)
- Must have established industry network and relationships within the territory
- Influential presentation style with demonstrated ability to uncover and address customer needs and effectively manage customer concerns and questions
- Ability to establish rapport and build strong relationships with a diverse customer base
- Strong business, analytical and scientific acumen
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Must have all relevant professional licenses and credentials required for the job
Responsibilities
- Develop strong and trustful relationships with HCP customers including key opinion leaders’ (KOLs’), hospitals / SPZs, neuro-pediatricians, neurologists, pediatricians and other relevant specialists e.g. nurses, pharmacists and other relevant hospital personnel to establish and maintain a valuable Business Relationship to customers for Acadia within the territory, as well as other relevant stakeholders
- Implement Acadia’s Key Account Management approach in close collaboration with Marketing, Medical, Market Access and other key functions
- Create a positive image of Acadia Pharmaceuticals Germany GmbH with relevant customer groups
- Promptly identify and investigate customer concerns and communicate with appropriate staff to solve problems in a timely manner
- Develop deep neuroscience and Acadia product knowledge, and an understanding of local and regional market trends
- Conduct detailed analysis of the area with the objective to identify and develop Rett syndrome-relevant treatment centres in collaboration with the cross functional team
- Develop insights-based Business /KAM plans for all top accounts/treatment centres
- Provide educational and commercial services to relevant HCP groups
- Commercialize Acadia’s products within legal and compliance boundaries according to Acadia’s marketing and sales strategy
- Plan, organize and execute local, regional educational sessions, network meetings, digital events for relevant healthcare professionals
- Actively develop cross-functional collaborations with MSLs, Brand managers, Access Head and other relevant Acadia functions
- Reporting and presenting account plans including KPIs to senior leaders and maintain a accurate and up-to-date CRM database
- Collect and report Pharmacovigilance information according to internal SOPs
- Represent Acadia Pharmaceuticals Germany GmbH at national and international congresses
- Comply with data protection law according to Acadia’s policies, comply with all local compliance policies and company SOPs
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- In addition to full command of German (mother tongue level), full proficiency in English (written and spoken) for effective collaboration across international Acadia teams
- Self-Motivated with a high sense of urgency, can do mentality, well organized, with a strong collaborative approach, high problem-solving attitude
- Resilience and ability to deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market condition
- High ambiguity tolerance and ability to create business results in a “start-up” environment
- Ability to travel, both within Europe and internationally
