Summary
Join Sperasoft as a Senior Landscape Artist and contribute to AAA+ projects. Responsibilities include creating terrains and landscapes using UE5 tools, designing biomes, building landscape materials, and developing high-quality materials in Quixel Mixer or Substance Designer. You will utilize procedural tools, ensure performance-friendly visuals, and collaborate with various teams. Guidance from Lead Artists is available, and you'll refine your skills and mentor junior artists. The role requires 3D software, UE5, and Perforce knowledge, along with familiarity with Unreal Engine's landscape tools and shader system. Material creation experience in Quixel Mixer and Substance Designer is a plus. Requirements
- Knowledge of 3D software (Blender/Maya/3Ds Max)
- Knowledge of UE 5 and Perforce
- Basic knowledge of unreal engine grass types, landscape tools (sculpting and material painting), foliage tools and splines
- Various bioms creation (except foliage). (f.e. embankment, road modules, rocks, landscape patches, decals, small set dressing assets and etc)
- To be familiar with unreal engine layered shader system
Responsibilities
- Create terrain and landscapes using UE5βs sculpting, painting, foliage, and spline tools
- Design and implement biomes, including rocks, decals, roads, embankments, and other natural elements
- Build and manage layered landscape materials within Unreal shader system
- Develop high-quality materials in Quixel Mixer or Substance Designer
- Use procedural tools like PCG or Houdini to place grass, trees, rocks, and other natural assets in a fast and efficient way
- Ensure performance-friendly, visually compelling landscapes aligned with art direction
- Collaborate with design, lighting, and technical teams to maintain quality and consistency
- Obtain Lead Artists guidance and approval as required to advance tasks
- Continue to refine artistic abilities and learn new software packages and/or in-house tools
- Coordinate with Senior and/or Lead Artists with mentoring Junior 3D Artists as well as sharing best project practices with them
- Contribute to the team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
Material creation in Quixel Mixer and Substance Designer will be a big plus, as well as knowledge of Houdini plugin for Unreal Engine
