Summary
Join BeyondTrust as a Sr Manager of Cloud Operations and lead a team of engineers in managing a global, mission-critical cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for hiring, managing, and mentoring staff, ensuring the daily availability and maintenance of the cloud infrastructure, and driving automation using IaC tools. This role requires experience in managing AWS and Azure cloud environments, implementing security guidelines, and establishing service level metrics. You will collaborate with development teams, investigate configuration issues, and maintain updated process documentation. Requirements
- Possess leadership and communications skills with technical reasoning skills and attention to detail
- Have experience operating, securing, and managing AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
- Have two or more yearsβ experience managing a large cloud environment
- Have experience with automation tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Puppet
- Be familiar with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog)
- Have scripting skills in languages supported by AWS or Azure
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers researching, designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining a mission critical cloud infrastructure used by users located around the globe
- Hire, onboard, manage, and mentor staff for optimal services delivery
- Manage projects and deliverables effectively, ensuring timely completion while maintaining high-quality standards
- Responsible for the day-to-day availability, monitoring, and maintenance of the BeyondTrust cloud infrastructure
- Drive automation of infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, documentation, and successful completion of projects
- Operate, secure, and manage AWS and Azure cloud environments
- Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
- Establish service levels and provide ongoing measurements, metrics, reporting, and dashboards of the effectiveness, performance and customer satisfaction of all services, hold team accountable to meeting those standards
- Integrate and troubleshoot third-party tools and services used for access, management, or auditing of the environments
- Constantly review pricing and service offerings to assist in decisions regarding cloud economics for both monetary and performance purposes
- Frequently discuss with the development teams to determine needs currently not being met and possible future needs
- Constantly investigate the environment for configuration issues and to assist with SIEM rule development
- Be aware of changes to services offered to both add or remove features as needed
- Update process documentation (SOP) - ensure documentation of entire environment is current
- Define and enforce policies to achieve required cloud security, uptime, and availability
- Work with vendors, suppliers, and other internal teams as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Possess AWS or Azure certifications
- Have experience with Google Cloud, Oracle, or other cloud providers
