Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Solutions Engineers across the Strategic West region, fostering growth, development, and collaboration
• Drive the technical components of strategic sales engagements by aligning Couchbase solutions with customer business needs
• Collaborate with sales leadership to define account strategies and ensure successful outcomes for Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and pilots
• Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers, advocating for Couchbase’s value in solving their critical data challenges
• Identify and address technical gaps during pre-sales engagements, ensuring customers have a seamless experience throughout their journey with Couchbase
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to provide field feedback and influence future product direction
• Champion best practices and thought leadership within the SE team, driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a pre-sales, consulting, or customer-facing technical role
• 3+ years of experience leading high-performing technical teams
• Deep understanding of modern database technologies (NoSQL, distributed systems, cloud-native platforms)
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging technical and business audiences at all levels—from developers to C-level executives
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise software development (Java, Python, .NET, etc.)
