Summary
Join Cologix as a Senior Network Engineer and contribute to the engineering, design, and maintenance of a large data center network. You will evaluate and maintain traffic flows, provide Tier III support, troubleshoot network issues, and evaluate new technologies. This role requires 4-8 years of experience as a network engineer, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and expertise in various network technologies. Preferred qualifications include specific certifications and experience with virtualization and scripting. Requirements

- Strong understanding of routers and switches: Cisco, Juniper, Brocade
- Strong understanding of firewalls: Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, and Sophos
- Strong understanding of load balancers - Unix platforms
- Strong understanding of MPLS/EVPN/VXLAN/OTV/L3VPN
- Core routing experience
- Strong understanding of routing protocols: eBGP, iBGP, ISIS, OSPF, and EIGRP
- Strong Layer2/Layer3 background
- Experience with Windows, Linux, and MAC Operating Systems
- Experience with Enterprise Server Configuration (Dell, HP, Supermicro)
- Experience with VPN Configuration
- Experience with Private Cloud Configuration and Installation
- Experience with VMware Essentials
- Experience with Physical Racking and Cabling of Enterprise Devices
- Experience with Alarm Monitoring
- Experience with Ticketing System Use
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and maintain traffic flows across transit and backbone links
- Provide Tier III support for network-related problems
- Troubleshoot backbone network
- Evaluate new technologies as needed
- Respond to trouble tickets and escalated customer calls
- Perform hardware installations of network infrastructure
- Turn up high-touch customer deployments
Preferred Qualifications
- Optical Engineering experience
- Virtualization experience: VMWare, Openstack, KVM, Puppet, Chef
- Scripting experience: Python, Perl, PHP, and shell
- CCNA β Cisco Certified Network Associate
- CCNP β Cisco Certified Network Professional
