Senior Network Engineer

Summary

Join MetTel's Network Services Team as a Senior Network Engineer! This hands-on role requires expertise in designing, implementing, and managing SD-WAN, cloud firewalls, and switching/routing solutions for clients. You will lead customer installations, guide service delivery, and manage trouble tickets. The position demands strong technical skills in VMware Velocloud SD-WAN, Fortinet firewalls, and Cisco/Adtran switches. The ideal candidate possesses a BS degree in a technical field, extensive experience with multi-vendor infrastructure, and a Cisco CCIE certification. The role may be remote or on-site, offering flexibility in work hours.

Requirements

• BS degree majoring in a technical discipline (Network Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.)
• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data networks
• 4+ years of experience working with multi-vendor infrastructure. Specifically with VMware Velocloud SD-WAN, Fortinet security appliances, and Cisco Meraki switches
• Cisco CCIE Certification
• 4+ years hands-on experience with VMware Velocloud SD-WAN, Fortinet Firewalls. (Configure, Deploy, Support), and Cisco Meraki

Responsibilities

• Design, Implement, and Manage SD-WAN, Cloud FW, switching and routing solutions for customers
• Lead customer installations and provide guidance to Service Delivery organizations
• Lead Engineering review meetings with customers and provide designs specific to their technical needs
• Manage all assigned trouble tickets to ensure they are completed within SLA
• Provide Tier4 support for Teir2 and Tier3 departments during outages
• Ensure all customer installations are properly monitored via Intermapper
• Create and maintain accurate detailed drawings and procedural documentation for each customer
• Maintain a positive demeanor when dealing with customers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Provide on-call support off-hours including weekends
• Ability to work occasional weekends to support customer turn-ups

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Velocloud SD-WAN Design, Implementation, and support
• Fortinet Firewall (FortiGate) Design, Implementation, and support. (Familiar with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer)
• Adtran Switch management via NCommand
• Cisco IOS Routing and Switching / CCIE or CCNP
• WAN Technology (MPLS, MP-VPN, SD-WAN)
• AWS and Azure Cloud configuration and management
