Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on HRIS, compliance, labor law, payroll administration and benefits management
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of driving HR initiatives and projects to successful outcomes
  • Proven experience working in fast-growing tech organizations, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in this environment
  • Deep understanding of Canadian labor laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively. Knowledge of US labor laws is also required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and management of HRIS systems, ensuring accurate and efficient data management for all HR processes
  • Develop and maintain compliance procedures, with a particular focus on Canadian labor laws, keeping abreast of both Canadian and US labor laws and regulations to ensure adherence across the organization
  • Streamline HR operations, including payroll processing and benefits management and administration, ensuring a solid foundation aligning with our vision of growth for our Canadian and US entities
  • Lead benefits management initiatives for our Canadian and US entities, including plan selection, enrollment and ongoing administration, to support the well-being of our employees
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion and excellence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless employee experience
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters
  • Support and manage the collaboration with an Employer of Record (EOR) provider, with a preference for prior experience in EOR-related tasks
  • Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement, driving informed decision-making across the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
  • Payroll Management Certification preferred
  • Experience working with an Employer of Record (EOR) is a plus
