Senior Product Manager, Data Products

Summary

Join Oportun's Enterprise Data Technology team as a Senior Product Manager and lead the development and execution of Oportun's data governance strategy. You will be responsible for shaping product strategy, setting objectives, defining roadmaps, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional data solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of data technologies, proven experience in data platform management, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Oportun offers a fast-paced, innovative environment within a mission-driven fintech company. The position is remote-first, allowing flexibility for work location within India.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus
• Proven experience of 5+ yrs as a Senior Product Manager and must have at least 3+ years of experience in a data platform or technology-driven environment
• Strong understanding of data technologies, data management, and data governance
• Excellent stakeholder management and organizational skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company’s vision and growth objectives
• Identify market opportunities and set long-term product roadmaps
• Lead a high-performing cross-functional product team that includes engineering, design, data, marketing, and others to implement and build new capabilities and increase reliability and scalability
• Drive strong collaboration and alignment up, down and sideways within the organization
• Advocate for the customer by gathering and analyzing feedback, conducting market research, and leveraging data to drive product decisions
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and impact
• Use data-driven insights to optimize product performance and make informed decisions
• Communicate product vision, strategy, and updates to executive leadership, board members, and other key stakeholders
• Present compelling business cases and demonstrate the value of product investments

Preferred Qualifications

• High preference to candidates who have exposure to DBT, Databricks and data migration experience
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus
