Join Jimdo as a Senior Product Owner to own and optimize our Billing & Payments domain. This role requires a business-savvy individual comfortable with high-level strategy and hands-on detail work. You will take ownership of billing infrastructure, subscription lifecycle, payment integrations, and key financial metrics. You will manage relationships with payment vendors and ensure compliance. Requirements
- Strong business acumen—you understand how payments drive revenue, retention, and customer satisfaction, and you do not shy away from financial modeling and trade-offs
- Deep expertise in SaaS billing & payment systems, with hands-on experience in PSPs (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, PayPal) and billing platforms (e.g., Zuora, Chargebee)
- A passion for digging into details—you do not just accept surface-level explanations but investigate root causes and edge cases
- Ability to manage vendor relationships, including negotiations, integrations, and service-level agreements
- Experience in subscription-based business models and expertise in financial operations like invoicing, tax compliance, and fraud prevention
- Understanding of API-driven billing & payment architectures, working closely with engineering teams to optimize integrations
- Knowledge of global payment regulations & compliance (PSD2, SCA, PCI-DSS, VAT compliance, etc.)
- Excellent analytical skills, using data-driven insights to improve payment rates and reduce revenue leakage
Responsibilities
- Own and optimize Jimdo’s billing and payments infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency
- Drive key payment metrics, including Payment Rate, Authorization Rate, Fraud Rate, Dunning Recovery Rate, and CX enablement
- Deeply understand customer payment use cases - analyzing every step from checkout to subscription renewals, refunds, chargebacks, and involuntary churn
- Manage relationships with payment vendors (Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, etc.) and billing systems (Zuora, Chargebee, etc.) to improve performance and SLAs continuously
- Balance product innovation with compliance - ensuring regulatory adherence (PSD2, SCA, VAT, tax compliance)
- Define and enforce SLAs for critical payment APIs to ensure reliability and seamless developer integration
- Optimize subscription management—making it easier for customers to upgrade, downgrade, pause, or cancel while reducing friction and involuntary churn
- Partner with Finance, Engineering, CX, Legal, Marketing and more to create a world-class billing and payment experience for Jimdo and its customers
