Summary
Join Sand Cherry Associates as a Senior Program Manager to lead a complex transformational program for an upstream oil and gas company. You will design and build the program structure, overseeing numerous project work streams, including systems, processes, and organizational design. This role requires extensive experience in program/project management within the oil and gas industry, specifically in IT or commodity sales. You will collaborate with key stakeholders, develop detailed project plans, and ensure seamless integration across all workstreams. The position is remote, requiring MST or CST hours, and is open to US residents only. This is a long-term consulting engagement (12+ months) with a competitive salary.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of proven program/project management experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically within IT or commodity sales functions
- Strong understanding of upstream oil and gas companies and how to optimize operations, manage risks, and enhance profitability through effective marketing, logistics, and trading strategies
- Experience leading and building complex programs or projects centered on transformational efforts or functional transitions from a vendor to an in-house model
- Strong understanding of how to manage a system/platform launch from an IT perspective, ensuring successful integration with existing technologies
- Experience with change management activities and strategies
- Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex projects, including the ability to develop project plans, manage resources, and track progress across multiple work streams
- Executive leadership abilities, with experience building teams, driving cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Experience with IT systems and platforms including CRM, and/or ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage key stakeholders at the Director and VP level
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Project Management, Communications, Engineering or related field is required
Responsibilities
- Design and manage the entire insourcing program structure to ensure alignment with business objectives and timelines
- Oversee numerous project work streams within the program structure, including systems, processes, infrastructure, organizational design and implementation
- Project oversight of the implementation of an ETRM and CRM system, critical tools used by the newly built department, ensuring seamless integration into current IT systems and workflows
- Collaborate with key departmental stakeholders, including Commercial, IT, HR, Legal and Operations to ensure project success
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor and track project progress, identifying and mitigating risks or issues
- Support change management activities in the transformational efforts
- Provide regular program updates and reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related inquiries and issues
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is a plus
- Experience with Smartsheet or similar Project Management software
- Experience with the MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
- MBA is helpful
