Join Acquia as a Senior Revenue Accountant and become a key member of the Revenue Team, reporting to the Sr Manager of Revenue Operations and Accounting. This role requires a strong understanding of revenue recognition guidance and the ability to apply it in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with various teams, ensuring accurate revenue recording, reviewing customer arrangements, and maintaining key accounts. Responsibilities include process improvement, preparing reports, and assisting with audits. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum 3 years of accounting in experience in public accounting and/or high growth software or SaaS technology company
- Understanding of US GAAP accounting principles with respect to Software, SaaS, and Professional Services revenue recognition
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- SFDC or other CRM system experience
- Knowledge of general ledger systems (SAP, Oracle, Intacct)
- Strong work ethic, accountable, and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Team player who has the ability to work independently and proactively to respond to inquiries, and deliver results
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Sales, Legal, and Operations to ensure all contractual issues are identified and addressed appropriately in advance of execution
- Ensuring revenue transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 606, etc.)
- Review customer arrangements to conclude the appropriate revenue recognition treatment and to identify any issues
- Assist in maintaining, monitoring, and reconciling the Company’s deferred revenue and unbilled receivables accounts
- Assist in Maintaining the Company’s Fair Value analysis for all product lines
- Assist in calculating the Company’s Monthly Relative Sales Value calculations and allocations
- Prepare and analyze monthly commission accruals and capitalized commission calculations in accordance with ASC340-40
- Review and formally document material revenue generating transactions in accordance with Company policies
- Prepare various monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports for management review as needed
- Assist with quarterly revenue audits, including preparation of supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
- Identify opportunities and assist Company in process improvement
