Senior Revenue Accountant

Summary

Join Planful as a Sr. Revenue Accountant and play a key role in the order-to-cash accounting function. You will validate and review contracts, understand quote-to-cash processes, perform monthly/quarterly close tasks, assist with collections, analyze complex revenue contracts, and partner with other business groups. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 3-5+ years of relevant SaaS experience, and proficiency in Excel and NetSuite. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
• Proven experience supporting the monthly revenue recognition close process for a global SaaS organization
• 3-5+ years of combined revenue and GL accounting experience at a global SaaS organization
• Experience reviewing junior staff deliverables and providing mentorship on technical accounting principles
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional collaboration, communication and relationship building skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines

Responsibilities

• Validate and review contract sales orders and invoices to ensure proper revenue recognition and deferred revenue for all subscription and service revenue streams
• Understand the quote-to-cash processes including systems logics and the downstream impacts
• Perform monthly and quarterly close tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations and various flux analysis across all revenue and accounts receivable-related accounts
• Assist with company collections processes and work cross-functionally to resolve disputes and credit adjustments
• Understand and analyze the accounting impact of complex revenue contracts and ensure that revenue is recorded in compliance with Company’s revenue recognition policy and ASC 606
• Partner and work cross functionally with other business groups (Sales Operations, Customer Success, FP&A, Treasury, Business Technologies teams) to assist with key initiatives and improvements
• Assist with year-end external financial audits
• Support compliance with internal requirements and revenue accounting processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvements
• Support revenue team on ad-hoc analysis, projects and system implementations
