Senior Revenue Accountant

Summary

Join insightsoftware as a Senior Revenue Accountant and play a critical role in managing revenue recognition and cost of goods sold reporting for our partner network, including mergers and acquisitions. This fast-paced role requires a strong understanding of GAAP accounting and software revenue recognition. You will partner with the order management team, review complex contracts, perform analysis to support stand-alone selling prices, and assist with month-end closing. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated leader with 6+ years of accounting experience and a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting or related field
• 6+ years of accounting experience
• Software revenue recognition experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and proven technical research and application skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels both within and outside the company

Responsibilities

• Manage the recording of revenue and deferred revenue performing critical analysis on a monthly basis to explain the movement of balances
• Partner with and influence team of order management in the order entry processes impacting revenue
• Review and opine on the revenue treatment for complex contracts
• Perform analysis to support stand-alone selling price by product under ASC 606
• Assist with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correcting journal entries and posting accrual entries
• Manage special projects related to new technical accounting pronouncements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NetSuite and SalesForce
• CPA or CMA
• Power user of Excel
