Summary

Join GuidePoint Security as a Security Engineer and leverage your expertise in information security to help top organizations mitigate risk. You will be involved in the entire security technology lifecycle, from pre-sales to delivery, working with cutting-edge technologies. This remote position requires local residency in the Greater Chicago or Milwaukee areas and significant travel within the North Central territory. You will collaborate with clients, research emerging technologies, and create business and technical collateral. GuidePoint offers a supportive and collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional growth. The role is primarily presales focused.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 5 years in an enterprise level security consultative, vendor, or operational role building and assessing Information Security architectures and programs
  • Possess proficiency in multiple security technologies, including: network security and architecture, NGFW, cloud security, Data Security, Vulnerability & Risk Management, Proxy, EDR, IAM, SIEM & Analytics
  • Be a good listener to work with clients to understand issues/gaps in their security programs and work alongside them to provide solutions
  • Possess excellent soft skills with the ability to articulate complex technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proactively work to mature the business, including improving existing offerings and creating new offerings
  • Author comprehensive business and technical collateral to support the business that is proficiently tailored to both technical and managerial audiences
  • Work from remote/virtual when not visiting client locations or attending events/meetings
  • Be willing to travel within the Cincinnati metro area
  • Dedicate 70% of time to Presales and 30% to delivery
  • Have deep proficiency in multiple security technologies, including: network security, NGFW, cloud security, DLP, CASB, Proxy, IAM, SIEM/Analytics, etc
  • Have deep expertise architecting and designing enterprise scale security solutions
  • Possess strong networking and security troubleshooting skills
  • Have deep proficiency in various client and server operating systems (Windows, Nix, OSX, etc.)
  • Possess working technical knowledge of advanced security concepts (Zero trust, defense in depth, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Be located in Cincinnati, OH and be open to local/regional travel for customer/vendor partner events
  • Build and assess Information Security architectures and programs in an enterprise level security consultative, vendor, or operational role
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple security technologies, including: network security and architecture, NGFW, cloud security, Data Security, Vulnerability & Risk Management, Proxy, EDR, IAM, SIEM & Analytics
  • Work with clients to understand issues/gaps in their security programs and provide solutions
  • Proactively research and engage emerging vendors and technologies to understand how they may be used to solve clients' challenges
  • Articulate complex technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proactively work to mature the business, including improving existing offerings and creating new offerings
  • Author comprehensive business and technical collateral to support the business that is proficiently tailored to both technical and managerial audiences
  • Work remotely/virtually when not visiting client locations or attending events/meetings
  • Travel within the Cincinnati metro area
  • Dedicate 70% of time to Presales and 30% to delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience with security technologies including Symantec DLP, ForeScout, Palo Alto, Check Point, CrowdStrike, Splunk, and AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Possess Educational & Professional Credentials
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Have 5+ years of security engineering experience in the Information Security industry OR as a technical lead for an internal Information Security program
  • Have previous pre-sales experience
