Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant system administration experience, including: Troubleshooting diverse systems and network architectures
  • Maintaining performance and reliability in high-volume/high-availability environments
  • Applying system debugging tools and techniques
  • Strong understanding of system security, configurations, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine system administration tasks including system monitoring, user account management, backup/recovery, and patch management
  • Maintain and log system performance metrics and events using system administration tools and logs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network infrastructure across high-volume, high-availability systems
  • Implement corrective actions promptly in response to issues identified by customers, internal teams, or monitoring systems
  • Apply debugging protocols and tools to investigate and resolve complex technical problems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to support system upgrades, migrations, and deployments
  • Ensure system compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices
  • Provide technical support for development and operational environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal or DoD IT environments
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS SysOps Administrator, or similar
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or FISMA
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar)
