Summary

Join GEM Technologies, a leading Managed Services Provider in NYC, as a Senior Systems Engineer. Maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and computer systems. Participate in R&D to enhance IT solutions and proactively resolve infrastructure issues. Provide expert technical support to clients, ensuring system security and peak performance. Design, implement, and maintain Windows-based systems and infrastructure. Collaborate with the IT team to guarantee system stability, security, and performance. This is a hybrid role with remote work and occasional on-site client visits in the NYC metro area.

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• At least five years of proven experience as a Senior Systems Engineer, with a track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects
• Systems administration : Proficiency in managing and maintaining computer systems
• Network protocols : Understanding of network communication protocols
• Hardware configuration : Knowledge of configuring hardware components
• Software deployment : Ability to deploy and manage software solutions
• Scripting languages : Excellent scripting skills using languages
• Security knowledge : Familiarity with system security practices
• Cloud-based computing : Experience with cloud platforms

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain server and cloud-based computing solutions
• Provide expert technical support to clients, resolving any issues related to their systems
• Analyze and optimize system performance, identifying areas for improvement
• Create and maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures and troubleshooting guides
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the field of systems engineering
• Experience with cybersecurity, including knowledge of firewalls and best practices for securing systems
• Experience with disaster recovery and regaining access and functionality to IT infrastructure
