Summary

Join Chainguard as a Senior Technical Program Manager and lead critical, multi-disciplinary initiatives driving real security outcomes. Partner with engineering and product teams to solve complex problems, align program goals with business needs, and own the entire project lifecycle. Monitor progress, identify risks, and utilize data to keep projects on track. Serve as a key connector between stakeholders, ensuring shared goals are met. This role requires 5+ years of experience managing cross-functional programs in technical environments, a strong technical foundation (Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent), and experience with software development teams, particularly in infrastructure, platform engineering, or developer tooling. Chainguard offers a competitive salary, flexible remote-first culture, comprehensive health insurance, flexible time off, and generous parental leave.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing cross-functional programs in fast-moving technical environments
  • Strong technical foundation: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or similar, or equivalent real-world experience
  • Experience working with software development teams, especially in environments focused on infrastructure, platform engineering, or developer tooling
  • Proven track record of standing up new processes, driving alignment, and influencing without authority

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with engineering and product teams to break down complex problems and turn ambiguity into action
  • Align program goals with business needs, prioritize what matters, and translate ideas into clear, executable plans
  • Own the lifecycle: scope, plan, track, and ship. On time, with quality, and with everyone informed along the way
  • Keep an eye on the metrics that matter. Monitor progress, flag risk early, and lead with data when things drift
  • Serve as the connective tissue across stakeholders—engineering, product, security, and leadership—to ensure shared goals stay on track

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cybersecurity, or with security-first engineering cultures
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks like SLSA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or HIPAA
  • A passion for secure-by-default systems and a strong respect for open source communities

Benefits

  • Flexible & Remote-First Culture: Work remotely with team meetup opportunities, bi-annual destination summits, and a $400 monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone and internet costs
  • Our Approach to Equity: Receive stock options upon hire and promotion. Plus, you can participate in secondary offerings and have 10 years to exercise your options (yes, you read that correctly: 10 years!)
  • 100% Covered Health Insurance: We cover 100% of your health, vision and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents. Nothing comes out of your paycheck
  • Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need – to do our best work, we need to recharge and reset
  • 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave: We offer 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout your child's first year
