Summary

Join Airbnb's Infrastructure team as a Senior Technical Program Manager and contribute to data-driven decision-making. Partner with data engineering and product teams to build and enhance data-driven decision-making across multiple areas. Collaborate with technical leaders to deliver major programs, ensuring the availability of data for critical use cases. This role requires a strong sense of ownership, strategic thinking, and the ability to work with stakeholders. A typical day involves supporting teams, optimizing processes, influencing technical direction, and collaborating cross-functionally. You will showcase team work to senior leaders and proactively share context with the team. This is a remote eligible position.

Requirements

  • At least 13 years of industry experience in a fast-paced cross-functional environment, with at least 11 years as a TPM or a similar role
  • Sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and a track record of using data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement, with experience developing and fine-tuning processes that increase organizational efficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience partnering cross-functionally and influencing others
  • Experience working with infrastructure customers, with intense focus on their needs and success
  • Proven ability to understand the bigger picture and use your technical expertise and problem solving skills to prioritize and manage blocking issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity to detailed solutions. You can take a vague problem, crisply frame the challenge, identify a path forward, and drive an initiative over the finish-line
  • Experience working with customers on how their workloads can best leverage the underlying infrastructure
  • Strong communications skills - able to capture customer requirements and distill customer-specific requirements and/or help onboard customers to the systems one has supported
  • Excellent written and oral business communication and people skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Support the teams to deliver work across multiple tracks with high quality by streamlining the team’s practices and processes, and optimizing ways of working
  • Think both broadly about overall outcomes while using good judgment on where to focus in on details
  • Influence the technical direction of projects to meet the data stakeholders’ needs while upholding quality. Quickly validate project ideas through iterative development, and pivot as necessary
  • Consume complex data and information to drive insights and create impactful stories
  • Enable cross functional collaboration between vertically oriented teams to solve high priority company projects
  • Showcase the team’s work in front of senior leaders, clearly communicate trade-offs, risks, and opportunities to a broad set of stakeholders
  • Proactively share context with the team, and help the team connect the dots of their work with broader company and organizational initiatives
  • Be able to answer questions about ongoing initiatives, architecture and systems, staffing, and priorities
  • Support other data TPMs working on related tracks of work
