Senior Staff Technical Program Manager

Summary

Join Airbnb's Infrastructure team as a Senior Technical Program Manager and contribute to building and enhancing cloud capabilities. Partner with engineering and product teams to deliver major programs, ensuring the infrastructure supports critical use cases. Collaborate with technical leaders to drive innovation and operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, data-driven decision-making, and excellent communication. The position is US-Remote Eligible, with occasional office work or offsites. The ideal candidate will have at least 13 years of industry experience, including 11 years as a TPM or similar role.

Requirements

• At least 13 years of industry experience in a fast-paced cross-functional environment, with at least 11 years as a TPM or a similar role
• Sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and a track record of using data-driven approach to decision-making
• Strong focus on continuous improvement and reducing cognitive load for engineers to drive organizational efficiency
• Excellent written and oral business communication and people skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
• Experience working with infrastructure customers, with intense focus on their needs and success
• Proven ability to understand the bigger picture and use your technical expertise and problem solving skills to prioritize and manage blocking issues
• Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity to detailed solutions. You can take a vague problem, crisply frame the challenge, identify a path forward, and drive an initiative over the finish-line
• Solid understanding of compute and networking concepts
• Experience with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offering
• Ability to grasp complex issues, proactively determine a path forward, and drive towards resolution

Responsibilities

• Support the teams to deliver work across multiple tracks with high quality by streamlining the team’s practices and processes, and optimizing ways of working
• Think both broadly about overall outcomes while using good judgment on where to focus in on details
• Influence the technical direction of projects to meet the Cloud stakeholders’ needs while upholding quality. Quickly validate project ideas through iterative development, and pivot as necessary
• Consume complex data and information to drive insights and create impactful stories
• Enable cross functional collaboration between vertically oriented teams to solve high priority company projects
• Establish org cadence such as monthly OKRs, Demos, Newsletter, etc
• Showcase the team’s work in front of senior leaders, clearly communicate trade-offs, risks, and opportunities to a broad set of stakeholders
• Proactively share context with the team, and help the team connect the dots of their work with broader company and organizational initiatives
• Be able to answer questions about ongoing initiatives, architecture and systems, and priorities
