Senior UX Designer

Summary

Join RYZ Labs as a Design System Expert and build a comprehensive design system from the ground up for an e-commerce client. This 6-month contract position (with potential for extension) is remote and based in Argentina. You will create a design guide optimized for Tailwind CSS, establish component architecture, implement design tokens, and collaborate with developers. The role requires expertise in Figma, Tailwind CSS, design tokens, and design-to-development workflows. Success in this position demands a proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and a strong understanding of responsive design and cross-platform considerations. You will also drive UX Ops initiatives and maintain system consistency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining design systems
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including advanced component creation, variants, and auto-layout
• Strong understanding of Tailwind CSS and utility-first design principles
• Experience with design tokens and design-to-development workflows
• Proven track record of collaborating effectively with engineering teams
• Understanding of responsive design and cross-platform considerations

Responsibilities

• Build the design system from the ground up: Create a complete design guide that works flawlessly with Tailwind CSS, following all Figma-to-dev best practices
• Establish component architecture: Design scalable, maintainable component libraries that reduce decision fatigue and accelerate development
• Implement design tokens: Structure design tokens that translate seamlessly between design and development tools
• Collaborate with developers: Work closely with our dev-heavy team to ensure design specifications are clear, implementable, and optimized for AI-assisted development tools
• Drive UX Ops initiatives: Establish processes, tools, and workflows that improve design-to-development handoffs
• Maintain system consistency: Ensure all design work across teams adheres to system standards and continuously evolve the system based on team needs
