SEO Content Strategist

Summary

Blavity Inc. is seeking an experienced SEO Content Strategist to join their team on a contract basis. The role involves supporting five distinct brands, conducting research using Semrush and Google Trends, overseeing the content update process, and ensuring all content meets high standards for accuracy, readability, and engagement.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an SEO Content Strategist or similar role
• Strong proficiency in using Semrush or Ahrefs
• Demonstrated ability to conduct daily research using Google Trends
• Experience identifying content update opportunities and providing detailed instructions for updates
• Excellent understanding of SEO principles and how to apply them to content strategy
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform content strategy decisions

Responsibilities

• Copy, edit and publish 8-10 articles and 5-10 web stories daily
• Write 2-3 articles per week
• Support the pitch process as needed
• Manage and mentor a team of writers, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills and produce high-quality content
• Plan ahead proactively to ensure content aligns with special events and holidays

• Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
• Motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S
• Candidates must be available to work in alignment with the Eastern Time Zone
• The hourly rate for this role is $30/hour, 20 - 25 hours per week
