Summary
Join Blavity, Inc. as a Social Media Coordinator to develop and execute engaging social media campaigns that promote and drive ticket sales for Blavity events. You will be responsible for creating compelling content, managing content calendars, and responding to audience engagement. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of content creation experience, be proficient in various social media platforms, and possess strong communication and analytical skills. This is a fully remote, contract position, paying $25-$30 per hour, requiring availability across Eastern and Pacific Time Zones. You will need to provide your own equipment. The role reports to the Director of Content Programming.
Requirements
- Education: B.A. in Journalism or related field
- Required Experience: 1-2+ yrs of content creation production experience
- Technologies: Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, Asana, and/or comparable project management suite
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S
Responsibilities
- Ideate and execute marketing campaigns that promote upcoming events across Blavity Inc. brands
- Create compelling social media content to drive ticket sales across multiple platforms
- Edit and optimize posts for maximum engagement and conversion
- Collaborate closely with event marketing and social teams to ensure consistent messaging
- Identify and capitalize on trending topics and hashtags relevant to events
- Support Develop content calendars aligned with event schedules and promotional timelines
- Respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments from our engaged audience around events
- Repurpose event assets into various content formats for different social channels
- Stay updated on platform algorithm changes and best practices for event promotion
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of design elements and principles β You understand the systems of graphic design in order to create work that is both aesthetically pleasing and effective
- 1-2+ yrs of content development for Gen-Z and Millennial demographics
- Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
- A strong interest in viral marketing and social media trends - Knowledge of, passion for, and experience with social-media platforms, both established and emerging including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
- A demonstrated ability to write engaging social-media copy across a range of topics, and for a variety of audiences
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with analytics and listening tools
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate project needs and timelines clearly and effectively
- High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats
- Naturally detail-oriented, with an obsessive need to document and communicate findings
- A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture
