Summary

Join Agile Defense as a Solutions Architect and contribute to impactful national security and civilian missions. This remote position, based out of McLean, VA, offers a competitive salary ($133,000 - $247,000) and involves supporting all phases of business capture and proposal processes for $10M-$1B+ efforts. You will partner with business developers, lead solutioning efforts, conduct vendor analysis, and prepare cost estimates. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and experience in Federal Government proposal processes. Successful candidates will have 10+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree.

Requirements

  • Have 10+ years of experience in technical roles requiring collaboration among team members and communication with senior-level customers, including 8+ years of supporting business capture processes with written and oral proposal response development
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher is required, with a preference for engineering, computer science, or IT Management related fields of study
  • Experience researching and developing technical solutions to complex problems across a variety of scenarios. Must be able to mature an idea from a concept of operation to an achievable solution that meets customer requirements
  • Possess the ability to understand a customer’s needs through reviewing available materials, attending industry day events, written and oral communications, and knowledge of industry and federal government strategic planning
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills. Must be able to present a variety of technical topics to potential customers with varying degrees of technical knowledge
  • Familiarity with Federal Government proposal process. Strong familiarity with common tools used in researching and developing RFI and RFP responses, including the Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Experience developing basis of BOE, staffing plans with labor categories, and cost estimates
  • Ability to review materials, assess solutions, and develop graphical concepts to convey a message in a clear and concise manner. A graphical artist will refine any graphics produced by this position
  • Experience developing RFI and RFP responses including win theme development
  • Ability to lead meetings and achieve the desired outcome of those meetings
  • Must be able to support a flexible work schedule to meet deadlines and due dates

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and support the BD teams at Industry Day events, customer Q&A sessions, and conferences
  • Lead overall solutioning efforts for proposal responses, identifying partners and solutions for a compelling response. Assign tasks and ensure completion within proposal response timelines
  • Conduct trade-off and vendor analysis to select the optimal solution to meet customer requirements
  • Apply estimating skills and appropriate techniques to develop a basis of estimate (BOE), staffing plans, and cost estimates
  • Prepare and review status of ongoing efforts, briefing senior executives, up to and including members of the C-Suite
  • Work with the Proposal Team to craft and write compelling Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, including oral proposal materials when required. Support oral proposals as a presenter (presenting to senior-level government officials and evaluators) or acting as an evaluator during practice sessions
  • Coordinate and work together as a member of the Agile Defense Solutions Team, sharing knowledge with others and supporting ongoing efforts. Provide expertise to project teams upon request
  • Retain knowledge of ongoing Federal Government and DoD initiatives and apply to recommended solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large ($100M+) business capture opportunities
  • Project Management experience including fiscal management of projects
  • Experience using AI tools in the business capture process
  • Experience designing software development, development, security, and operations (DevSecOps), and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline solutions to meet customer requirements. Apply knowledge of software development solutions to responses, including detailed activities to successfully implement solutions where there are no current capabilities
  • Software development/DevSecOps, cloud, or other IT-related certifications
  • Security+ or another approved DoD Directive 8140.03 certification
