Join Thoughtworks as a Technical Principal and leverage your extensive experience in technology and business services to shape the technology vision and strategy for the North America CMTB market. Partner with the business, driving execution of the go-to-market strategy and building executive engagement with key clients. You will strategically define and sell technology solutions, attracting and retaining clients and talent. Shape the market's technical culture, contributing to its growth and commercial success. Lead and support technologists, demonstrating executive presence with clients, and strategically balancing demand, delivery, and talent needs.
Requirements
- 15+ years of technical breadth and depth experience mix
- 10+ Tech Execution/Leadership experience in the business services industry
- Intimately familiar with SaaS based core technology systems and other SaaS solutions
- Intimately familiar with the principles of business capabilities such as consultative selling and client relationship management, service portfolio management, professional development and training services, compliance and legal advisory, business process outsourcing (BPO)
- Experience of having led (or been a part of) Technology/Digital Transformation engagements in the technology industry
- Support staffing to ensure we have the right technical leaders on the right engagements
- Balance the needs of our clients, our talent, and our business, helping to articulate the tradeoffs and run a profitable business
- Create and ideate with delivery and Service Lines on forward thinking engagement models, and the execution of those engagement models
- Enable the creation of opinionated technology solutions for the Media and Entertainment domain that demonstrate that can add a clear competitive advantage to our clients
- Understand and exercise pragmatic technology choices in build vs buy scenarios leading to an adaptable system that delivers the desired outcomes while balancing competing needs
- Strong communication skills; ability to consultatively engage & influence CTO/CIO/Principal architect level stakeholders as well as Tech Lead level stakeholders
- Strong business acumen
- Proven track record of consulting skills
- Ability to influence, align and activate TWers
- Ability to partner and collaborate with leaders and functional teams within the region
- Experience in technical sales
- Willing to travel
Responsibilities
- Provide input to and execute the NA CMTB technical and market business strategies in the media
- Work with Service Lines and other regional and global services to apply services to the local market
- Support the demand organization in business development pursuits and technology solutions that allow us to attract and retain clients and technologists
- Collaborate and share best practices across Markets and Service Lines
- Actively build and leverage a professional network in the local tech community
- Provide technology solution oversight and leadership on existing client engagements
- Build trusted relationships with senior client technology leaders on key focus accounts
- Lead the resolution of client/account escalations in the technology organization
- Work with delivery and Service Line leadership to implement processes and technology that support business value and efficiency across business and technical teams
- Build and leverage a technology leadership team within the Market that drives results
- Exhibit a strong passion and commitment to grow the next generation of technology leaders
- Ensure that all technologists have adequate support structures and connection to the Market
- Identify technical capability gaps and partner with the Talent function and Technical Directors on ways to strategically build, recruit and rotate talent in order to close those gaps
- Provide career paths that are motivational to technologists and drive value for our clients
- Ensure those career paths are actionable on accounts by holding leaders accountable for individual and collective growth planning in their market/accounts/teams
- Coach and lead Market technology leaders and subject matter experts and execute the performance development process for those technology leaders
- Own the recruitment, engagement, development and retention of a diverse and capable market of technologists that are dedicated to our clientsβ success
Preferred Qualifications
- Internally: successfully played a Technical Principal for a number of financial services accounts executing core/digital transformation engagement in the past
- Externally: played a CTO for a tier 2 or tier 3 business services organization, VP of technology or similar roles could have you set up well to take on this role
