Summary
Join Darktrace, a global leader in cybersecurity AI, as an SMB Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales. This dynamic, customer-focused role involves working closely with the Account Executive team to provide technical expertise throughout the pre-sale process. You will be responsible for managing Proof of Value engagements, designing solutions, presenting to various audiences, and ensuring smooth transitions to post-sales teams. The position requires proven technical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. While fully remote, proximity to a Darktrace SMB hub office is preferred for occasional in-person collaboration. Darktrace offers a comprehensive benefits package.
Requirements
- Have proven technical ability via a technical degree program, cybersecurity certification, or commensurate experience
- Possess knowledge of technical language (computer networking and cybersecurity)
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be able to clearly communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences, and have presentation skills in a customer-facing context
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team in an innovative and fast-paced environment whilst delivering to deadlines
- Have enthusiasm for innovation, experimentation and self-development in the cybersecurity field
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for the technical engagement of the Proof of Value (POV) (pre-sales technical trial) from end to end
- Design, document, and communicate solution architectures for Darktrace POV deployments and full contract deployments
- Present Threat Intelligence Reports and advice to a variety of audiences, from technical audiences to C-level executives
- Recommend and deploy integrations as needed for best-practice
- Act as a technical point of contact between clients, partners, and internal teams within Darktrace
- Work closely with teammates on the Account Executive team
- Drive a value-selling approach to work towards a technical win state for deals
- Assist with and participate in forecasting
- Transition closed accounts smoothly and successfully to post-sales account management teams (SEs, CIEs, CSMs, etc)
- Engage with the Channel team to act as a technical touch point between clients and partners
- Stay up to date on all Darktrace products and software versions to own the technical relationship with the client and provide up-to-date expertise
Preferred Qualifications
Be located near one of the Darktrace SMB hub offices (Los Angeles, CA) and be able to be physically present in that office occasionally and as appropriate in working with the sales team (for example, annual Sales Kick Off, possible trainings/events held on approximately a quarterly basis.)
