Summary

The Senior Product Developer will manage the end-to-end product development process, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure quality standards are met. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of active performance garment construction, fabric sourcing, and production processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in merchandising, preferably within the fashion apparel industry
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in merchandising software and tools, such as Excel and PLM systems

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end product development process
  • Translate design concepts into viable products
  • Own and manage vendor/supplier matrix
  • Identify and source appropriate fabrics, trims, and other materials
  • Own and manage factory/supplier matrix
  • Ensure development calendar is adhered to and all deadlines are met
  • Oversee style set up / data entry and maintenance in PLM system
  • Partner with Design and Merchandising to ensure data accuracy at key milestone deadlines
  • Create and maintain development trackers for samples, fabrics, lab dips, strike offs, etc
  • Manage and mentor a small team of product developers
  • Provide guidance and development opportunities for team members
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with Design
  • Work with Merchandising
  • Coordinate with Production
  • Ensure Quality Standards
  • With Design, oversee fit sessions and work with technical designers to ensure the perfect fit and construction of all garments
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure consistent quality and service
  • Continuously evaluate and improve product development processes
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to drive innovation in product development
