Summary

You will lead month-end close activities, perform financial analysis, manage accounts payable, and develop accounting policies. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations across multiple key areas. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, driving process improvements and system enhancements. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Accounting in a remote-first environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in SaaS, technology, or a high-growth company
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to accuracy and detail
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt to evolving business needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and excited to contribute to a collaborative and growth-oriented team
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of close reports and schedules
  • Perform variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and deliver insights that support decision-making
  • Own vendor relationships and oversee invoice processing and timely payments through Zip
  • Prepare audit-ready documentation and act as a key point of contact for external auditors (Big 4)
  • Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders to manage accruals and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements with an eye on scalability and control
  • Play a lead role in the development and rollout of new accounting policies and procedures, including capitalization of software costs
  • Drive ad hoc projects, system enhancements, and process transformation initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA) is highly preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite is preferred; familiarity with systems like Zip is a plus
  • Big 4/Public Accounting experience is a plus
