Staff Accountant

Summary

The job is for a Staff Accountant at an expanding online streaming platform company based in Sunnyvale, CA. The role involves financial operations, bookkeeping, tax reporting, and improving accounting processes. Fluency in both Mandarin and English is required. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance is necessary, with a preference for CPA designation and experience in the technology, broadcasting, or entertainment industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
• Proficiency in both Mandarin and English (reading & writing)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a hybrid work environment
• Willingness to report on-site at our Sunnyvale headquarters

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for our product on the platform
• Collaborate closely with department heads to ensure precision in financial and tax reporting activities
• Foster seamless communication and integration with studio management and the Finance Department Head
• Prepare financial statements with precision and timeliness
• Drive ongoing improvements in financial transparency and project-based accounting methodologies, aiding in the evolution of our finance systems
• Monitor the PEX system diligently to ensure efficient management of prepaid cards
• Demonstrate expertise in TV/film production accounting principles
• Cultivate strong communication and collaboration with our finance team based in China

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred
• Over 3 years of experience in accounting for technology, broadcasting, or entertainment industry is preferred
• Experience in startup environments is advantageous
